The best WordStream alternative depends on which part of WordStream you’re replacing. If you used the free Google Ads Performance Grader and want something ongoing at low cost, look at Adzooma or TrueClicks, both of which have free plans. If you want Google Ads recommendations you can apply yourself, Opteo. If you’re growing past one platform and want automation, Optmyzr. If you want every campaign checked daily with the fix explained, and you run Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn or Reddit Ads, PipeHalo, from $119/month.
If you want someone else to run your ads, none of these software tools do that. You’d compare managed service providers or a freelancer instead, and LocaliQ, WordStream’s parent brand, is one of them.
First, what WordStream offers today
WordStream is now “WordStream by LocaliQ,” part of the USA TODAY Network, according to its about page. When people search for WordStream alternatives, they usually mean one of four things:
- The free Google Ads Performance Grader. You sign in with Google and grant one-time read-only access. It grades areas including wasted spend, Quality Score, impression share, click-through rate, account structure and best practices, per the grader page.
- The free Facebook Ads Performance Grader, which reviews account activity, performance by audience, ad performance, wasted spend and best practices.
- WordStream Advisor, the self-serve ad software. Its Advisor page describes a weekly workflow across Google, Facebook, Instagram and Microsoft Ads “in as little as 20 minutes per week.”
- Marketing services from LocaliQ. WordStream’s marketing services page covers search, display, video and social ads, SEO, listings and social media marketing, sold through a consultation and demo.
Each needs a different kind of alternative, so this page covers software options and notes where a service is the better fit.
Verdict: who should pick which
- Stay with WordStream if you want one low-cost tool for Google, Facebook, Instagram and Microsoft Ads with landing pages and call tracking add-ons, or you want LocaliQ’s team involved.
- Pick Adzooma if you’re a small business that wants to start free across Google, Microsoft and Facebook Ads.
- Pick TrueClicks if you run Google and Microsoft Ads and want ongoing account scoring on a free plan.
- Pick Opteo if Google Ads is your main channel and you want a daily list of improvements to push live.
- Pick Optmyzr if you’re an agency or larger advertiser who needs automation across many accounts and platforms.
- Pick PipeHalo if you want every campaign checked every morning, with each problem explained in plain English with the money at stake, and you’d like to approve each fix before PipeHalo makes it.

WordStream: the baseline
What it is: A brand of LocaliQ offering free graders, the WordStream Advisor software and access to LocaliQ’s marketing services.
Best for: Small and local businesses that want simple tools, learning resources such as PPC University and the option of help from a team.
Platforms: The Advisor page names Google, Facebook, Instagram and Microsoft Ads. The free graders cover Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
Pricing: As listed on WordStream’s Advisor page in Oct 2026, WordStream Advisor is $49/month with no commitment and cancellation at any time. Add-ons are listed from $20/month (Conversion Toolkit) and $25/month (Call Tracking). Features listed include customized alerts, conversion and call tracking, cross-platform reporting, a landing page builder and keyword research. The graders are free. The marketing services page lists no prices; you book a consultation.
Watch-outs: Advisor’s page doesn’t list a free trial, so confirm the current price and features with WordStream before you sign up. The Google Ads grader uses one-time access; the page also describes a Performance Tracker that reviews your account every 30 days.
Adzooma
Adzooma is PPC software for checking account health, tracking budgets and applying optimizations. Its homepage says applying a recommendation “takes 2 clicks.” It offers performance reports, health scores, 30 pre-built alerts by email or Slack, and budget tracking. It names agencies, ecommerce brands, in-house marketers and freelancers as its audiences.
Best for: Small businesses and freelancers who want a free starting point that covers search and Facebook.
Platforms: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Facebook Ads.
Pricing: As listed on adzooma.com/pricing in Oct 2026: Free ($0, monthly reports, 3 alerts, 1 user seat), Silver ($69/month or $700/year, weekly reports, 10 alerts, unlimited seats) and Gold ($179/month or $1,800/year, daily reports, unlimited alerts). Every plan includes unlimited ad accounts.
Watch-outs: Report frequency rises with plan, so the Free plan reports monthly and daily reports need Gold.
TrueClicks
TrueClicks says it helps you “monitor, analyze, and optimize all your PPC accounts in one place.” It scores each account against 100+ best practices, tracks budget pacing and KPIs such as ROAS and CPA against targets, and lets you fix issues in bulk with a “Fix” button.
Best for: Businesses and agencies on Google and Microsoft Ads that want continuous checks rather than a one-off grade.
Platforms: Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
Pricing: As listed on trueclicks.com/pricing in Oct 2026, the free plan covers up to $50K/month in ad spend, with unlimited users from one email domain and unlimited Google and Microsoft Ads accounts. Paid tiers are priced by spend; the FAQ gives $249/month at $100K as an example, with a 30-day free trial.
Watch-outs: No Facebook or Instagram coverage is listed, so social advertisers would need a second tool.
Opteo
Opteo describes itself as “the smarter way to manage Google Ads.” It suggests improvements, including keyword management, ad creative, bids and excluding bad traffic, that you can push live to Google Ads in seconds. It also has budget tracking, alerts and custom reports.
Best for: Small businesses or freelancers who spend mainly on Google Ads and want to make the changes themselves with guidance.
Platforms: Opteo’s homepage, features and pricing pages describe Google Ads only. A new version covering Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok Ads is in early access as of Oct 2026.
Pricing: As listed on opteo.com/pricing in Oct 2026: Basic $129/month (10 accounts, $25,000 monthly spend), Professional $249/month, Agency $499/month and Enterprise custom. Yearly billing gets a two-month discount. The homepage offers a 14-day free trial and asks for a payment method at signup.
Watch-outs: At $129/month, it costs more than WordStream Advisor’s listed price, and its site doesn’t describe Facebook or Microsoft Ads. See our full list of Opteo alternatives.
Optmyzr
Optmyzr is a PPC management and automation suite with a rule engine, no-code scripts, account audits, budget pacing and alerts, one-click optimizations and an AI assistant called Sidekick.
Best for: Agencies and larger advertisers. Most small businesses won’t need this much tooling.
Platforms: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Amazon Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and TikTok Ads, per its homepage.
Pricing: Optmyzr prices by monthly ad spend. Its billing FAQ sets Essentials at up to $150K/month in spend and 25 accounts, Premium at up to $500K, and Enterprise at custom pricing. As listed on Capterra in Oct 2026, Essentials starts at $299/month and Premium at $389/month. Its pricing page offers a trial with no credit card required.
Watch-outs: The entry price is high for a small account. Our Optmyzr alternatives page covers lighter options.
PipeHalo
PipeHalo is a daily paid media audit. Every morning it checks every campaign in your connected ad accounts, explains each problem in plain English with the money at stake and the fix most likely to work, and follows up to see if the fix worked. Think of it as a checkup every morning: you get the prescription, and you decide what to do.
Best for: Small businesses and marketing managers who want plain-English answers without learning a complex tool, and growing teams who later want to see which channels produce sales opportunities. See how PipeHalo works for small businesses.
Platforms: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Reddit Ads today. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) is coming soon. CRM: HubSpot or Salesforce, optional.
What it does: 15 daily checks, including under- and over-pacing, cost per click spikes, spend with no conversions, conversion tracking that may be broken, and, with a CRM connected, broken or missing UTMs. The Action Center ranks problems by money at stake, with “What to try” steps in Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising. The Monday Brief emails you the top 3 open problems by money at stake and how the month is pacing.
Apply: approve a fix and PipeHalo makes the change in your ad account, such as pausing campaigns, ads or keywords that waste spend, lowering an over-pacing budget, blocking wasted searches or rotating a tired ad out, within limits you set and with 30 days to undo it. It works in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Reddit Ads.
Pricing: As listed on PipeHalo’s pricing page in Oct 2026, Core is $119/month for up to $25K/month in ad spend, with 5 seats, every platform, the daily checks, fixes for every problem, the Monday Brief, CRM pipeline and Pip. Growth is $189/month (up to $75K/month) and Enterprise $249/month above that. There’s no free plan; an Ad Check shows your top 3 issues. Monthly plans have no minimum term and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Watch-outs: PipeHalo makes a change only after you approve it, and only the fixes its own flags suggest. It doesn’t support Facebook or Instagram yet, and it doesn’t build landing pages or track calls. If you advertise mainly on Facebook and Instagram today, WordStream or Adzooma covers that now.
How to choose
If you only want a one-time check-up, WordStream’s free graders may be all you need. They give you a snapshot to work from.
If you want ongoing checks at no cost, compare Adzooma’s Free plan and TrueClicks’ free plan. Check three things: which platforms each covers, how often it looks, and whether it explains the fix or just shows a score.
If spend is small, frequency still matters. Google Ads can spend up to twice your average daily budget on a given day, though you won’t be charged more than 30.4 times your average daily budget in a month. A small account can still burn through a week’s budget on the wrong searches before a monthly report catches it.
If you want to do less yourself, tools that apply changes (Adzooma, TrueClicks, Opteo, Optmyzr) save clicks. PipeHalo also makes changes, but only the ones you approve, so the decision stays with you, which some owners prefer. Read more about how PipeHalo uses access to your accounts.
If you want someone else to run your ads, software isn’t the answer. Talk to a few agencies or freelancers, including LocaliQ, and ask how they report results.
